The Project
Honoring Our Educators
Built in 1978, Cascade Fountain has long stood as a tribute to educators. By 2020, this beloved landmark was ready for some repairs. Our community stepped up, just as it did decades ago.
Through our “Reviving an Icon” campaign, we raised $1.8 million in less than two years. Nearly 400 donors contributed, allowing us to restore Cascade Fountain to its original grandeur and create an even more vibrant space for our community.
More Than Just a Fountain
Our vision went beyond simply repairing the fountain. The project created an active plaza area with:
-
Event space
-
Improved lighting
-
Additional seating
-
Enhanced landscaping
We also established an endowment to make sure Cascade Fountain and its surrounding grounds will be maintained for years to come.
A Destination Reborn
Today, Cascade Fountain and Plaza serve as the crown jewel of the
Antelope Park Triangle. Visitors can enjoy:
-
The spectacular water feature
-
Picnic areas on landscaped grounds
-
Lincoln Children’s Zoo

Continuing the Legacy
Cascade Fountain is a lasting reminder of the invaluable contributions educators have made in all our lives. We invite you to visit, reflect on the contributions of educators, and enjoy this revitalized space.
While the major renovation is complete, our Cascade Honor Roll brick program continues, allowing you to leave a lasting mark while supporting ongoing maintenance.
